The Inspiration Behind ZinUre
The name ZinUre is a combination of my two daughters’ names. They are truly my inspiration and motivation behind everything I do.
The idea of creating a postpartum care line and a community of mothers to connect has been years in the making - since 2018 to be exact, after the birth of my first child and my experience of the process.
As a soon-to-be new mom at the time, I spent months leading up to the birth of my child researching any and everything I could about what to expect before, during, and after pregnancy. I wanted to be prepared as possible and well-equipped with all the information needed to be the best mother I could be. The majority of my time was spent preparing for life with a new baby, with a very small percentage (if at all) spent on the physical and emotional changes I would undergo as a mother. No amount of research done could adequately prepare me for the “fourth trimester”.
I quickly realized that so much emphasis is placed on caring for the new baby upon their arrival, neglecting the very real needs of the mothers that birth them. At the time, very few people spoke about what really happens after birth, including the perineal tears/sore perineum, cracked nipples, hemorrhoids, and constipation - to name a few. The emotional changes such as anxiety, moodiness, depression, and irritability were also not widely acknowledged.
This gap in information and resources is how it all began. My goal is to ensure that all mothers who have similar physical, emotional and psychological experiences are equipped with the necessary postpartum essentials and find comfort in knowing that they are not alone. Together, we will build a community of mothers who support and uplift each other!
